How do I connect to my VPS over SSH?

Connecting with a password or a key.

Connect

ssh root@YOUR_SERVER_IP

Find the IP and allowed authentication method on the VPS page. Prefer an SSH key and rotate any temporary credential immediately.

On Windows

Use the built-in ssh in PowerShell, or PuTTY.

If it refuses

Check the IP is right.
Is port 22 open in the firewall?
After repeated attempts fail2ban may have blocked you — wait 10 minutes.
