SSH access to your VPS

Generating an SSH key, connecting, and disabling password login.

SSH gives you full command-line control of the server.

Generate an SSH key

ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "you@example.com"

Upload the key

ssh-copy-id root@YOUR_SERVER_IP

Connect

ssh root@YOUR_SERVER_IP

Disable password login

sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config
# PasswordAuthentication no
sudo systemctl restart ssh

⚠️ Confirm key login works in a second session before disabling passwords.
